This Builder’s Edition 652ce was made in 2024 and it’s in excellent, lightly played condition. The frets show just a hint of wear. It's crafted with figured Big Leaf maple for the back and sides with a torrefied Sitka spruce top. It has V-Class bracing, which delivers a unique tonal boost in the 12-string configuration. Interestingly, this model has a reversed string orientation, which places the fundamental, or lower pitched, string at the top of each pair, a set up that adds warmth and body. (This set up was pioneered by Rickenbacker’s electric 12-strings.) Like many of its Builder’s Edition counterparts, this 12-string is finished with a Silent Satin sheen that reduces incidental noise for clean recordings. The body and fretboard edges are chamfered and the beveled armrest and cutaway providing a truly fluid, intimate connection between player and instrument. It’s fitted with ES2 electronics and includes a deluxe Taylor hardshell case.
